National Cross Country Relays

The National Cross-Country Relay Championships were held on the 27th October in Callender Park, Cumbernauld. It was a cold but dry day. There were a few competitors representing Victoria Park AC across the 4 races.

In the young female’s race, the ‘A’ team of Sophie Sinclair (24th), Amiya Patel (14th) and Isla Britton (13th) were 13th. The ‘B’ team of Amy Byrne (92nd), Roisin Cameron Coyle (69th) and Emma Gilmour (59th) were 59th. The ‘C’ team of Orla Stewart (95th), Lucy Yeadon (89th) and Alice Williams (81st) were 81st. Hazel Whitworth ran in an incomplete team and finished 103rd.

In the young male’s race, the ‘A’ team of Saul McGlennan (8th), Fraser Gilmour (10th) and Callum Byrne (12th) finished 12th. In the ‘B’ team, David Kirkpatrick, who was the leg 1 runner, dropped out. However, Callum Paterson (127th) and Ruairidh Allen (116th) were allowed to run at the back and finished 116th. The ‘C’ team of Finlay Waters (27th), Oscar Moogan-Sharratt (74th) and Louis Sharp (82nd) finished 82nd. Saul was the 8th fastest U13.

In the senior women’s race, the ‘A’ team of Mhari Hendry (6th), Phillipa Millage (3rd), Josephine Moultrie (2nd) and Gillian Black (2nd) finished 2nd. The ‘B’ team of Stephanie Lawrie (22nd), Holly Little (16th), Diane Ramsey (21st) and Becky Dunphy (20th) finished 20th. Mhari was 5th fastest on leg 1, Phillipa was 3rd fastest on leg 2, Jo was 1st on the 3rd leg and 4th fastest overall and Gillian was 8th fastest on the last leg.

In the senior men’s race, the ‘A’ team of Max Milarvie (10th), Christopher Boyle (24th), Callum Heirs (37th) and Martin Hayes (28th) finished 28th. The ‘B’ team of Duncan Thomson (131st), Thomas Connolly (118th), Charlie Murray (110th) and Peter Ramsay (105th) finished 105th. Max was 10th fastest on the 1st leg.

In the master’s men race, the Victoria Park team of Peter Jardine (11th), Ralph Connolly (12th) and Alex Potter (12th) finished 12th.
