Day 2 of our Together Apart series was a great success with 28 personal best performances being recorded in the field events. The best performance came from Andrew Peck who threw the senior 2k discus 45.68m, which is just over a metre short of our club record which was set by Colin Watson, Scottish champion, with a distance of 46.80m on the 12th of July 1975. It's surely only a matter of time before the record falls to Andrew.
Other big PB's in the discus went to Ryan Rooney who threw 38.86m in the U17 men, Meghan Porterfield who threw 36.52m in the U17 women and Kiera Maxwell who threw 38.03m in the U20 women.
The other high achievers were Callum Hendry, throwing the 5k hammer 45.75m as an U17 man and Jessie Caig who threw the 3k shot 10.30m as an U15 girl.
In the jumpers, James Clark set a pb of 4.74m in the U15 long jump and Cara Kirkwood set a pb of 9.71m in the U15 triple jump.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of the track events on Tuesday night.
